Music and Digital Media graduate Jay Cliffen’s composition was chosen for “on hold” playlist for City of Kingston as part of the YGK Music Program.

A new section to Our College News – a digest of sorts to help you stay on top of developments and details that are confirmed for fall 2021. This section will summarize the most recent information you will need, both as an SLC employee, and to help our students.

The SLC Information Technology team is excited to announce an upgrade to SLC’s student and employee portal, slc.me. Effective with the completion of the Friday, July 16 maintenance window, people will see a cleaner, easier to navigate interface when they log on.

Caryn Langstaff, Director of Wellness, Accessibility & Student Success at SLC, presented at the Canadian Association of College and University Student Services (CACUSS) Conference in June, alongside Niagara College and Anthology Beacon. In the session, How Two Campuses are Elevating Student Success through Proactive Outreach, Caryn shared how SLC is proactively identifying students who would benefit from additional outreach using non-cognitive assessments and early alerts using the Anthology Beacon Early Alert System.

Over the last couple of years, SLC‘s Innovation and Business Engagement department has conducted several workforce development projects directly or in partnership using SkillsAdvance Ontario (SAO) funding within Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development (MLTSD). Read a brief overview of current and recently completed projects.
